Have You Ever Stopped and Wondered?

"Have You Ever Stopped and Wondered" was the very first poem that I ever wrote as a new believer in Christ. Although it seems I failed to write down the exact date, it was in February 1992.

Have you ever stopped and wondered, about the dreadful day
when your time on earth expires, and in the grave, you lay?
Have you ever stopped and wondered, if the Scriptures could be true
that your soul lives on forever, but the place is up to you.

You only have two choices, the Bible states that well
a narrow road to heaven, or a broader road to hell.
If upon these thoughts you've pondered, both time and time again
at your heart, the Lord is knocking, and it's time to let Him in.

Have you ever stopped and wondered, what price you'll have to pay
if the last time He comes knocking, at your heart will be today?
If so there are some Scriptures, with you I'd like to share
because hell means separation, and pain beyond compare.

If you give your heart to Jesus and leave your evil ways
His promise of salvation will brighten all your days.
And when He comes back for the rapture, you won't be left behind
if you love the Lord your God, with all your heart, your soul, and mind.

But if your time on earth expires, from the evil seeds you sow
there's no time to stop and wonder, it's just down to hell you go.
