A Message from Heaven

"A Message from Heaven" was a poem that I wrote for my stepmother. She grew up in a wealthy family as a healthy young girl just running around and living her life. However, even though there was plenty of spiritual influence around her growing up, her eyes were blinded to the real truth of needing salvation. When she and my dad got married she was in the beginning stages of multiple sclerosis. As time went by she went from a cane to a walker, to a wheelchair, and finally to just a bed. In the process of her illness, she gave her life to Jesus and truly became a woman after God's own heart. "A message from heaven" was written with the idea of God Himself speaking to her.

My little child so rich and sweet
I watched you stand there on your feet.
And when you ran from here to there
you never knew how much I care.

And as you grew your eyes were blind
that narrow road you could not find.
Each time I knocked, you turn and run
although for you I gave My Son.

So now I sit you in your chair
your blinded eyes I now repair.
You opened your heart and let Me in
and I freed you from your chains of sin.

You cannot stand, nor can you run
but by your side, I sit My Son.
And just like King David, who's work was pure art
I now see a woman who's after My heart.

So let's just sit together
as hard as it may be.
For soon you'll be in heaven
standing next to Me.
